A personal story of curiosity — from supervising construction sites in Ranchi to shipping AI-powered software for the world.

I'm Rehan Ahmad — a civil engineer who fell in love with building software, then taught AI to build alongside me.

  1. Chapter 01
    The Site

    It started with steel bars, mix designs and dusty BOQs. As a Site Engineer I learned that great engineering is really about coordination, communication and relentless quality control.

  2. Chapter 02
    The Model

    BIM opened a new dimension. Revit and Navisworks let me design, clash-detect and quantify entire buildings before a single brick moved — saving weeks on real projects.

  3. Chapter 03
    The Machine

    The AI wave rewired my workflow. Paired with Cursor, Claude and Copilot, I shipped React and Flutter products — a cricket app on the Play Store, dashboards, this portfolio.

  4. Chapter 04
    The Frontier

    Today I sit at the intersection of construction and code. Next stop: AI-driven, interactive experiences — bringing engineering rigor into games and immersive tools.

SportVerse

A live cricket companion app for fans — real-time scores, match cards and news in one clean interface.

Problem

Existing cricket apps are cluttered with ads and slow to update, hurting the fan experience during live matches.

Solution

Built a lightweight Flutter app powered by Firebase and a live cricket API, with a focused, ad-light UI and instant updates.

My Role

Solo developer — product design, Flutter development, Firebase setup, Play Store release.

Challenges

Handling live data refresh without draining battery, and shipping a Play Store-ready build with proper policies.

Outcome

Successfully published on the Google Play Store with a smooth, fan-friendly live match experience.

Residential BIM Model

Full architectural BIM model of a residential unit — walls, doors, MEP hooks and quantity-ready schedules.

Problem

Client needed a coordinated 3D model to visualize the home and generate accurate quantities before construction.

Solution

Modeled the entire unit in Revit at LOD 300 with parametric families and auto-generated quantity schedules.

My Role

BIM Modeler — architectural modeling, family setup, schedules and drawing sheets.

Challenges

Balancing model detail with performance and keeping schedules in sync with design changes.

Outcome

Delivered a fully coordinated model with clean drawings and BOQ-ready schedules the client used for tendering.

Structural BIM + Clash Detection

Structural framing, rebar detailing and Navisworks clash detection reports for a mixed-use build.

Problem

Design coordination between architecture, structure and MEP was surfacing costly clashes on site.

Solution

Built a structural Revit model, federated it in Navisworks, and produced actionable clash reports for the design team.

My Role

BIM Engineer — structural modeling, clash detection workflow, coordination reporting.

Challenges

Reconciling models from multiple disciplines with mismatched grids and reference levels.

Outcome

Reduced RFIs and rework by catching clashes early, saving weeks of on-site coordination.

Construction Billing Dashboard

A dashboard for tracking BOQs, running bills and progress against estimation — with automated Excel exports.

Problem

Billing engineers were losing hours every week to manual Excel work and error-prone copy-paste between sheets.

Solution

Built a React + TypeScript dashboard that ingests BOQs, tracks progress and exports client-ready billing sheets.

My Role

Full-stack developer — product design, React frontend, data model, Excel automation.

Challenges

Modeling nested BOQ items and generating pixel-perfect Excel exports matching client templates.

Outcome

Cut billing preparation time significantly and eliminated a class of manual calculation errors.
